The Name Change! Caviar! Caviar, Caviar Bo Baviar banana fanna fo Faviar fee fy mo Maviar, Caviar! Due to some unfortunate circumstances, Caviar Players is now in a position where we need to undergo a name change to acquire society status again (and be able to apply to funding and grants). But because at Caviar our glasses are always full (pop, juice, rum, vodka, diet coke … Name your poison), we see this as an excellent opportunity to re-evaluate the organization, re-brand, assess what we want to bring to the communities of Sturgeon County and expand upon the communities exposure to dramatic arts.

So, why do you care about all this? Because, we’re holding a naming contest!!! If we choose the name you submitted (or an altered variation), you win a season pass for two for our 2014/2015 season. That includes two tickets to our dinner theatre in spring 2015, access for two to any work shops we may hold and two tickets to any other performance we may have.

As a legal entity, our new name needs to include 3 elements:

1) Distinctive Element: a unique word, words or location which sets our society’s name apart from others (Example: Caviar Players)

2) Descriptive Element: specifically describes the activities that the society will be engaged in (Example: Drama)

3) Legal Element: a word from the following list that indicates the society as a registered and legal entity (Example: Society): Society, Association, Club, Fellowship, Guild, Foundation, Institute, League, Committee, Council, Board or Centre.

We have previously been known as “Bon Accord and District Dramatic Arts Society” and “Caviar Players Drama Society”. What will our new one be?

To enter, send and e-mail to info@caviarplayers.ca with “Name Change Contest” in the subject line. Include in the e-mail the suggested name (a reason for the name if you have one), your name and your phone number. If you’re under the age of 18, please have your parents send the e-mail for you. Entry deadline is May 31, 2014.

Disclaimer: The Caviar Players executive committee reserves the right to change the deadline date without notice and to alter, change and/or combine any entry submitted. In the case that the winning name is a result of combined entries, all participants will receive a season pass for two. In the event that more than one entry is submitted with the same name and that name is chosen as the winner, the participant who submitted the entry first will win.
